I have been wanting to see these guys live – Their signature song is religious and called “By The Mark”. While I of course don’t know the folks in this video, this is really no different from my childhood. My Dad took us camping to Bluegrass Festivals as a child and he taught me G, C and D on the guitar (playing songs like Jimmy Brown the Newsboy and Wildwood Flower). He owned a CB/Electronics store and always had guitars etc. in the store so people could come by and pick music.
I’ve always been around music like this growing up and in the last picture in this video you can see the coax cables and a switchbox along with CB/Scanners etc… – (that also has always been part of my life) as was my Dad’s.
Nuff said… These boys ROCK….
Jim Hurst in San Mateo California
Jim used to live in Toledo Ohio and drove a UPS truck – he started getting better and better on the guitar, I met up with him and Missy Raines years ago at some little venue they did down by the Smuckers plant here in Ohio and I just happened to be in San Jose when I got an email from him that he was in San Mateo at Joe’s garage – Joe is a guy that collects old cars and has a hobby garage that is half car museum and the other half is a stage and I had a great time… By the way….

Rhonda Vincent in Warren Ohio
I met Rhonda years ago at a Bluegrass festival in Ohio when she was touring with Jimmy Martin – Jimmy is a very unique character who also took Jett Williams (Hank Williams daughter on tour with him as well) but I don’t remember who it took on tour first, I just remember meeting both of them. Jimmy always referred to them as “girl singers” – anyway when Rhonda went out on her own she hired Jimmy’s banjo player Kenny Ingram. When she came to Warren it was pouring rain and my girl friend wouldn’t go with me – but I had a blast and got her to sign my mandolin (I got that at the Gibson factory next to the Grand Ole Opry) got Porter Wagoner to sign it as well – if I find those pictures I’ll post them as well.
